Why is consistency so important? Because the habits you create for yourself now are easier to maintain for the rest of your life.
So what are some important habits to create at this point in your life?
1) Budgeting. Start the habit of budgeting your money NOW. This isn’t something you should be consistently putting on the back burner. This is what will make or break your financial success in life. If you are constantly overspending, unsure of how much money you have or how much you need to cover your bills and expenses every month, you won’t be able to live a life of less stress.
2) Wake up early. This habit is probably my least favorite. So why is it important? Because creating the habit of waking up early will cause you to accomplish more throughout your day. You are setting yourself up for success by allowing more time to get ready in the morning (maybe even exercise!), and get to work on time. You won’t feel as rushed or stressed, which will give your mind more clarity throughout the rest of the day.
3) Eat healthy & exercise. If this isn’t the hardest thing to do as a young adult, I don’t know what is. Being disciplined with your health in your 20’s and 30’s is so so important for maintaining good health through your 40’s, 50’s and on. Even if it’s just being consistent with cutting back on the fast food, exercising for 15 minutes a day, or intentionally eating fruits and vegetables throughout the week, it adds up! So create the habit now – add those strawberries and carrots to your grocery list, go for a brisk 15 minute walk when you get home from work, bring your lunch to work for an extra day each week to avoid Chickfila. The little changes matter because those are what lead to the major ones.
“You won’t always be motivated so you must learn to be disciplined.”
